Practice and Build Your Plans During National Preparedness Month

Plan Ahead
Ready.gov, the official website of the Department of Homeland Security, has recognized September as National Preparedness Month. The theme for this year’s event is “Disasters Don’t Plan Ahead. You Can.” Each week this month has had a different focus and week three is dedicated to practicing and building out preparedness plans.
At Singlewire, our InformaCast emergency notification software helps people spread the word during an emergency. But practicing using it and planning how and when it will be used are critical components for effectively responding to a disaster. Ready.gov has compiled a number of helpful resources you can use throughout the month of September to make your preparations and to encourage others to do the same. Leverage graphics, pre-built social media content and download the FEMA app to help construct your plan.
