Singlewire Spotlight: Abby Zellmer

Each month, we feature one of our stellar team members on our blog. Learn more about them and what they do at Singlewire.

How long have you been at Singlewire and what’s your position?

I started a little over a year ago, at the end of August 2017. I’m an Inside Sales Representative.

Please describe what you do at Singlewire.

I send out quotes, enter orders, assist with answering the sales line, educate customers and partners on the sales process, cover LiveChat a few hours a week, issue license keys, help monitor Singlewire Community registration, manage the Sales Hub (which is where we keep our internal sales processes, pricing, meeting notes, etc.), and support my Territory Managers in their sales efforts.

I am assigned to the Southern territory which includes Brent Kiedrowski, Tom Hewett, Brad Jungemann, Casey Dellinger, and Shirryn Williams-Padilla (shout out to my homies)!

Angie Lira is my boss lady and she’s awesome.

The rest of the crew in the sales department, I consider to be my pals. They consider me to be annoying…but like the annoying little sister they love anyway. At least I hope that’s how it is.

What do you like best about working at Singlewire?

Definitely the people. I worked in radio for 10 years and then made a random decision to quit my job and find something else. My biggest fear was that I wasn’t going to find the same type of fun, hilarious people that I worked with in the past. I genuinely enjoy everyone I work with here. I laugh a lot. And the mentality is a lot like what I’m used to. Have fun doing the job, but ultimately get the job done and get it done right.

What have you gained from working at Singlewire?

A lot of sales knowledge. I didn’t do a lot with sales in my past jobs, but I had worked with salespeople a little bit. What I like about Singlewire is if I have a question and I want to learn more, there are plenty of people that are open and helpful. Because I’m in the sales department, I’m able to learn a lot from those surrounding me. And the sales department here (along with every other department) truly cares about the customer. It’s really about finding what’s right for the customer and what works in their environment and I like knowing that we’re giving people what they want and need.

Where do you see Singlewire in the next five years?

Everywhere. Most, if not all, establishments have the desire to keep their employees and patrons safe and informed. I feel like InformaCast will be used in just about every building you enter five years from now.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

I watch a lot of Bravo and Investigation Discovery to the point where it’s become a serious hobby of mine. If you have any interest in rich ladies or true crime, you’re with me on that though.

If you could witness any historical event, what would you want to witness?

I consider it a historical event, so I’m going with it. I wish I could have been in the room at Kellerman’s when Johnny Castle finally successfully lifted Frances “Baby” Houseman. It was magical when I saw it onscreen…I can only imagine the electricity in the air had I actually been there.

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Spaghetti! It’s absolutely the best meal. It’s about the only thing that I will eat until I’m physically ill because it’s so gosh darn good.

What was the last book you read?

Fried Green Tomatoes, and I was Idgie Threadgoode for Halloween last year. I had seen the movie 100 times, but I never actually thought to read the book until I moved to Alabama.

What is the best concert you’ve ever attended?

Definitely Britney. I’ve seen her twice. She’s amazing.
