General

InformaCast mass notification system is currently used in a variety of industries around the world. Businesses, K-12 schools, universities, healthcare facilities, manufacturing plants, government buildings and retail all use our emergency notification solutions to send a mass notification. InformaCast offers extreme flexibility to meet customers’ needs, regardless of the environment.

InformaCast is used whenever an organization needs to reach its people with an emergency notification of critical information, quickly. From active shooter and chemical spill emergencies, to day-to-day occurrences such as severe weather and incoming deliveries, the InformaCast emergency notification system can be customized for any situation your organization may encounter.

InformaCast mass notification software has a simple interface that anyone can use, but provides permission features to ensure that the right people trigger the right message when it matters most.

The most important asset of any organization is its people, and their safety should be a top priority. To keep people safe, they need the right information to know what to do in the event of emergency, and they need that information as fast as possible. InformaCast emergency and mass notification system provides an easy way to reach everyone in your organization in a variety of ways to increase the likelihood they receive vital information the moment they need it.

With a simple user interface, InformaCast mass notification software allows you to upload users and devices you want to send messages to. Users and devices can be sorted into groups depending on what kind of situation and who needs to see the message. Messages can be pre-built with text audio and images, or built when needed. Then with the press of a button, messages are sent to groups of users via SMS text, email, phone calls and on-premises devices such as desk phones, IP speakers, desktop computers and more for maximum reach.

InformaCast is an emergency mass notification system that sends critical messages to on-premises devices and mobile users, helping keep people safe — by providing notification solutions for every need.

No. Reaching people solely on their mobile phone is insufficient. You will miss 20% to 30% of your people. (Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Vol. 8 Issue 1) How many people have their cell phones on silent? Inaccessible? Are in a bad coverage area? Are there people for whom you have some responsibility, but you don't even have their mobile phone numbers? InformaCast offers notification solutions.

To achieve the level of speed and reach that's necessary to keep your people safe, you need to send to both mobile phones AND on-premises devices.

InformaCast Fusion is a cloud-based service that reaches mobile users and on-premises devices through a single interface. InformaCast Advanced runs as a virtual appliance and reaches primarily on-premises devices. InformaCast Mobile is a cloud-based service that reaches mobile users, and it can be configured to send to a separate InformaCast Advanced instance to reach on-premises devices. The biggest distinction between using InformaCast Fusion vs. the combination of InformaCast Mobile + InformaCast Advanced is in the administration of a single cloud-based mass notification interface.

The best way to reach mobile users is via push notifications to the iOS/Android application that comes with InformaCast Mobile (integrated to InformaCast Advanced) or InformaCast Fusion (would be used instead of InformaCast Advanced.) If you wish to reach mobile users from within InformaCast Advanced, then either e-mail or Cisco Jabber will be your best options.

Yes. When used with a non-Cisco phone system, there will be some differences in functionality. First, InformaCast notification system will not send broadcasts to non-Cisco phones. InformaCast will send a mass notification to computer desktops, digital signage, analog overhead paging systems, InformaCast-compatible IP speakers, e-mail and mobile phones (via InformaCast Mobile). To trigger a mass notification from a non-Cisco phone system, a SIP trunk must be configured between the phone system and InformaCast. Also, the CallAware feature for 911 alerting will only work on Cisco phone systems. Other than these differences, customers can still use InformaCast Advanced to solve the use cases of intruder alerts, automated emergency weather notification, panic buttons, internet of things integration and more.

InformaCast Advanced Notification mass notification software is licensed by IP endpoints, primarily the number of Cisco phones in use. For budgetary pricing or a quote, call us at 608.661.1140, option 1 or email [email protected]. InformaCast Advanced can be purchased either as a perpetual license, or as a subscription. The perpetual model has a higher upfront cost with a lower recurring cost for the maintenance. The subscription is a lower upfront cost and maintenance is included. Both InformaCast Mobile and InformaCast Fusion are cloud-based notification-as-a-service and are therefore sold only as subscriptions.

InformaCast notification software offers notification solutions to transform Cisco phones, overhead speakers, and other devices into a powerful IP paging and emergency notification system, allowing you to rapidly send a mass text and audio notification to a variety of endpoints. Learn more.

Sending out a mass notification is just the first step. InformaCast Mobile helps you manage situations, after that first critical notification message goes out. It gives users insights into who received the alert, when they read it, and if they need assistance to help you take appropriate next steps. Additionally, InformaCast Mobile works with InformaCast Advanced Notification for a complete mass notification system, reaching both mobile users and on-premises devices like Cisco phones, desktop PCs, digital signage and overhead paging systems.

You can send a mass notification to as many people as you need, as often as you like. There are no charges for iOS/Android push notifications or e-mails, but you may incur additional charges when sending SMS texts or placing phone calls, should you exceed the allowance included in your InformaCast mass notification subscription.

Informacast Fusion

You can reach people on mobile phones via one of four main methods: (Apple/Android app, SMS text message, phone call, or e-mail). You can also reach people in buildings via an overhead paging notification system, Cisco IP phones, computer desktop pop-ups (Windows and Mac), digital signage and more. We also have an ever-growing ecosystem of partners that gives you even more choices for reaching people and/or taking action as a broadcast is sent.

InformaCast Fusion is a hybrid cloud architecture, meaning the primary components are in our data centers in the cloud. For reaching on-premises devices such as an overhead mass notification paging system (analog or IP-based), IP phones, computer desktops and digital signage, there is a VMware-based virtual appliance that runs on the customer's internal network. All traffic between the cloud and the on-site virtual appliance is SSL encrypted. View the InformaCast Fusion Security document for additional detail.
