InformaCast Advanced Notification

Did you know that you already have everything you need to send automated weather alerts, organize emergency conference calls, send notifications to social media, record when an emergency phone call is made, and much more? Simply unlock the InformaCast Advanced Notification already loaded on your server, and for just pennies on the dollar of what you paid for your phones you can transform those phones into a powerful notification system. Here are a few short demonstrations of what you can do with InformaCast Advanced Notification.

Send Automated Weather Alerts

InformaCast's Inbound CAP Plugin helps you stay informed when there is a weather or other safety concern in your area. Just define the geographic area that is important to you, and InformaCast will handle the rest. InformaCast is configured to receive alerts in Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) format from several organizations, including the National Weather Service, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and Department of Homeland Security. As soon as one of these organizations releases an alert that pertains to your area, InformaCast will notify you and all of your people who are in the affected region. See how this works in the following video.

Emergency Conference Call Functionality

In the event of an emergency, InformaCast Advanced Notification helps you quickly organize your top responders with its conference call functionality. When sending a notification, you can include an invite to a conference call so the recipients can receive the notification then enter the conference call almost immediately. Whether you are a CEO who needs to assemble your executives, a manager who needs to assemble your safety team, or a medical professional who needs to assemble your doctors and nurses, InformaCast Advanced Notification helps you organize your people quickly and efficiently so you can respond to the problem together. You can also use this function for day-to-day conference calls. Here’s a short demonstration.

Send Notification to Cisco Jabber

When an emergency occurs, reaching people is extremely important. The Jabber IM plugin allows you to send text and audio to Cisco’s Instant Messenger tool Jabber so that you can reach them even when they are on the go. We know that people aren’t always near their desk phones, so we have created ways to reach them through many different channels. After all, the more methods of notification you can use, the more likely it is that your people will receive your message and stay safe. InformaCast allows you to send to multiple channels as easily as sending to one.

Message Confirmation

Get peace of mind from InformaCast’s message confirmation feature. When you send a message, InformaCast can ask the intended recipient if they received it and if they are safe. You don’t have to wonder whether they received your message or not. InformaCast will let you know.

Integration to Existing Overhead Paging Systems (Not Available in Trial)

You shouldn't have to pay for what you already have. Save money by integrating InformaCast Advanced Notification with your existing speakers. Not only is this an extremely easy process, you'll also have the added bonus of working with a system that you know. Your technicians will be able to draw from their existing knowledge, which will cut down on training time and optimize efficiency. See how this is done in the following tutorial.

Here’s a demonstration of how to send text and/or audio to Cisco IP phones and other endpoints.

Sending Notification to IP Speakers

IP speakers get your message out loud and clear, and can be an effective communicational tool for manufacturing companies, schools, hospitals, and other businesses. With one activation, you can send a synchronized page or emergency notification to all of your people, even if they are in different buildings. The options to adjust speaker volume and add a pre-tone and a post-tone better ensure they will be able to hear your message. If you only need to communicate with a specific building, floor, or department, you can do that, too.

911/Emergency Call Alerting/Recording (Not Available in Trial)

When someone in your facility dials an emergency number like 911, InformaCast Advanced Notification can let you know exactly when and where the call was placed. It can also record the call and automatically notify your safety team or first responders.

Pre-Recorded and Scheduled Broadcasts

Be prepared in the event of an emergency with pre-recorded broadcasts. InformaCast Advanced Notification allows you to pre-record and store broadcasts, so when an emergency strikes, even someone who is scared and disoriented can send an effective communication by triggering a pre-recorded broadcast with a panic button or other simple trigger. InformaCast Advanced Notification will do the talking for them.

Notification of Computers

If you're reading this, chances are you're at a computer. Think about how often the people you want to contact use their computers, too. InformaCast Advanced Notification can send notifications right to their computer screens to communicate with them on the front lines. Here’s how.

Reach Mobile/Remote Users (Available via Optional Module)

Safety concerns can affect your people no matter where they are. InformaCast Advanced Notification helps your messages reach beyond the walls of your facility. If you need to lock down a facility, warn people to avoid a dangerous area, or communicate to family members or employees working remote, you can do that just as easily as you can communicate internally. Here’s a short demonstration of this feature.

Reach Social Media

You can’t ignore the impact of social media on today’s culture. Here are some social media statistics to consider:

  • 18% of Americans use social media to get information about emergencies
  • 24% use social tools to let others know they’re safe in the aftermath of an emergency
  • 80% of Americans expect public safety to monitor social media. More than one-third of these people expect first responders to arrive at their front door within one hour of them posting such a need to a social-networking site.

InformaCast harnesses the power of social media through Twitter, Facebook, Jabber, email, and more without the need to send individual messages to each of these platforms. With just one message, you can reach a large group of people in a variety of ways.

Statistics according to Jamison Peevyhouse, Director of emergency 911 services for Weakley County, Tennessee.
