In this blog post, we’ll go over some of the most important updates we made to our InformaCast software so you can better protect your people.

2020 Mass Notification Updates

Fusion Failover

Singlewire Software released server failover for InformaCast Fusion. Failover, in conjunction with the already available distributed activation and survivable remote site notification (SRSN), helps increase the dependability of our solution. It provides a safety net for organizations should their network go down or their notification system fail, mitigating the risk when trying to protect people from dangerous situations. Read more…

Self-Registration

InformaCast Mobile and InformaCast Fusion users can now self-register for notifications using a QR Code or a short URL. Self-registered users can opt into or out of receiving notifications from particular distribution lists while also being able to manage their own details, devices, and preferences. This saves system administrators time by making the signup process easy. Read more…

Dynamic Replies

Adding to InformaCast Mobile and InformaCast Fusion’s ability to have recipients respond to notifications, InformaCast now offers dynamic replies. This allows system administrators to provide a single, customized reply per confirmation option, adding a more conversational flow to confirmation requests and providing feedback to recipients’ confirmations. IPAWS Notifications

FEMA-approved organizations can now use InformaCast to send alerts via the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). IPAWS provides public safety officials (federal, state, local, tribal, etc.) with an effective way to alert and warn the public about serious emergencies. This new functionality within InformaCast utilizes the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) to broadcast messages. Read more…

COVID-19 Message Templates

To help organizations manage the ongoing health crisis, Singlewire Software added COVID-19 message templates to InformaCast Fusion. The message templates can be customized based on an organization’s needs and address employee health, closings, reopenings, and social distancing best practices. Messages can be used to reach remote workers, administrators, or other relevant groups within an organization who need to stay informed. Read more…

Chromebook Notifications

This year we added Chromebooks to our ecosystem of mass notification endpoints. By downloading the InformaCast Mobile app from the Google Play store onto a Chromebook, that device can then be registered to a user along with their other contact information to receive InformaCast mass notifications. These messages are sent from the InformaCast cloud and can reach the Chromebook wherever it is, as long as it has internet connectivity. Messages appear within the app and can include text, audio, and images. Read more…

Multicast Mapping Patent

As a testament to our team’s drive for innovative solutions, Singlewire Software was issued patent 10,742,512, “System and Method for Multicast Mapping” by the U.S. Patent Office. It describes a method to use an existing device on an IP network, such as a desktop, phone, or server, to create a map of how to pass multicast traffic on that network. The patent protects the idea that a cloud service could be created to pass a unicast data stream to that device on an IP network and have that device determine how it is passed to other devices via multicast. The patent will be applied to future development of the company’s InformaCast mass notification software. Read more…
