Microsoft Teams – Reach people where they work

Phone SystemsCollaboration PlatformsIntegrations

Solution

Microsoft Teams is Microsoft’s shared workspace solution where users can chat, share files, and work with business apps. InformaCast Fusion integrates with Microsoft Teams, enabling users to initiate mass notifications and collaborate during an emergency. Teams users can initiate an InformaCast alert directly from Teams using the InformaCast bot. The bot responds with an adaptive card that can be filled out to provide details about the situation taking place. Once the card is completed, the bot will confirm the submission and send alerts through Teams, as well as all of the devices within an organization, such as IP speakers, desk phones, mobile devices, digital signage, and more.

Benefits

This integration strengthens InformaCast ability to connect with the collaboration tools organizations are using regularly while expanding the notification capabilities of Microsoft Teams. This helps with:

  • Quickly and easily getting the word out to the tools people use regularly when time is of the essence.
  • Collaborate virtually to assess situations as they unfold with notifications that invite users to join a Teams space.
  • Extend the reach of notifications beyond Microsoft Teams to other connected devices for text, audio and visual alerts.

Use Cases

Microsoft Teams and Singlewire Software serve businesses, hospitals, schools, and other organizations looking to strengthen their safety and communication strategies. Together, these solutions help organizations address a wide range of threats and situations, including:

  • Emergency notification for violent intruders, lockdowns, and evacuations
  • Incident management for crisis situations
  • Paging for everyday communications with the Microsoft Teams Phone System

About Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is the hub for teamwork in Microsoft 365. The Teams service enables instant messaging, audio and video calling, rich online meetings, mobile experiences, and extensive web conferencing capabilities. In addition, Teams provides file and data collaboration and extensibility features, and integrates with Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft and partner apps.

Support Details

Microsoft Teams does not support registering InformaCast to the PBX as a third-party SIP device, so calls to InformaCast must be routed using Direct Routing and a Teams-certified Session Border Controller (SBC). This can be done with the SBC on the customer network in a DMZ or with a Service Provider Managed SBC in the cloud for SIP registration.
