Singlewire Spotlight: Ben K [INTERVIEW]

Each month, we feature one of our stellar team members on our blog. Learn more about them and what they do at Singlewire.

How long have you been at Singlewire and what’s your position?

I’m a User Experience Designer here at Singlewire. I’ve been in the position since February of 2021.

Please describe what you do at Singlewire.

I work across the teams to help craft experiences for our InformaCast platform. I also interact directly with customers to get feedback on what is/isn’t working in our software so we can be sure that the decisions we’re making are customer-focused.

What do you like best about working at Singlewire?

My coworkers are fantastic, as is being able to work on an application like InformaCast that helps so many keep their staff/students/etc safe and informed.

What’s been your favorite project you’ve worked on here?

Building up our User Experience practice! It’s been a fun ongoing project showcasing the various ways we can utilize and collect customer feedback.

Where do you see Singlewire in the next five years?

An even stronger product than it is today, helping users across various industries keep informed as to what’s going on around them.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

We purchased a home a few years ago, so one of my favorite ongoing “hobbies” is learning how to be handy around the house and fix/improve things. I recently just finished redoing our basement and I’m loving how it turned out.

What’s the best place you’ve traveled to and why?

A few years ago my wife and I traveled to the Washington D.C. area for work and we had a blast spending a few extra days just taking the trains around to all the monuments and experiencing the history of our country.

If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?

Tacos. Because they’re tacos!

Tell us a little about your family.

I live with my wife Ruby here in Madison. We’re both originally from central Wisconsin but she followed me down here during college and we haven’t left since.

Spotify, Pandora or Apple Music and why?

Music is a big part of me getting into a flow state with work, so having a service like Spotify is fantastic as I’m always discovering new music. I do miss Rdio though…
