Safety & Operation Readiness Report in K-12 Now Available
In the moments that matter most, help is just a press away.
When issues arise, every moment matters. Your employees need an immediate, discreet way to request help, and leaders need to know exactly what is happening and where to send assistance. The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge gives your team personalized protection in a single wireless device, backed by the InformaCast platform so the right people are alerted in seconds—with the right level of response, delivered to the right place.

“Any teacher at any time is three presses away from another adult standing next to them in less than sixty seconds.”
Tim Patton, Director of Facilities and Safety, Edgewood High School of the Sacred Heart
From the first press to the coordinated response—no one navigates an emergency alone.
Alert Instantly
From the moment an employee needs help, getting the signal out fast is a top priority. The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge gives every staff member a discreet, always-on panic button they can wear around their neck or on their belt. Two button-press options distinguish between localized incidents and major emergencies, so the right level of response is delivered every time. And because the badge is part of the Singlewire InformaCast platform, organizations can pair it with four additional panic button options—so help is never more than a button press away, no matter where staff are in a building.
Reach the Right People
An alert is only as effective as the people it reaches. When a badge is activated, InformaCast delivers intrusive audio, text, and visual messages across every connected device in seconds. Targeted alerts can route to leadership and security teams with the specific information they need to respond, while broader notifications can initiate an organization-wide lockdown or share critical instructions throughout the building. No one misses the message, no matter where they are or what device they are using.
Respond Faster
Once the right people are alerted, InformaCast gives your team the tools to coordinate an effective response. View live camera feeds, track staff location in real time on a floor plan of your building, and schools can even notify local dispatchers automatically to satisfy Alyssa’s Law requirements. As the incident unfolds, your team has the insights it needs to deploy assistance where it is most needed, account for every individual, and signal when it is safe to resume normal operations.

- Complete incident management suite to handle events from start to finish
- Daily and emergency use cases to maximize value
InformaCast Wearable Alert Badges.
All the hardware you need, backed by powerful software.
InformaCast Wearable Alert Badges are powered by InformaCast software and leverage three other hardware components to receive activations, relay information and monitor the health of deployed devices.
- Badges: Wireless, wearable panic buttons that staff use to request assistance or activate organization-wide alerts. One-year rechargeable battery.
- Beacons: Small, smart devices placed throughout buildings. When a badge is activated, the beacons deliver floor- and room-level accurate location. Four-year battery life.
- Supervisors: Data collectors that receive information from nearby beacons and relay it to InformaCast to continuously monitor beacon health and battery life.
- LoRaWAN Gateways: Bridge badge activations and location data to InformaCast in seconds, so alerts go out, and responders know exactly where to go.
- InformaCast software: A single platform for critical communication and incident management that powers that hardware, with full alerting, location, and response capabilities.

Achieve Alyssa’s Law compliance with confidence.
Across the country, more states are passing or proposing Alyssa’s Law legislation requiring schools to deploy silent panic alarm systems that connect directly to law enforcement. The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge is purpose-built to help schools meet those requirements while keeping students and staff protected every day. Singlewire Software is dedicated to delivering the solutions schools need to keep their communities safe—and we are with you every step of the way, from planning through deployment and beyond.
- Silent, wearable panic button worn by staff every day
- Direct connection to local 911 dispatch centers when activated
- Floor- and room-level accurate location data delivered to first responders
- Two-tier alerting to distinguish daily issues from major emergencies
- A dedicated team to guide schools through deployment, training, and ongoing support
The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge is a wearable panic button that staff carry on a lanyard or clip, giving them an instant, silent way to call for help during an emergency. With a single press, the badge alerts administrators, security teams, and first responders—sharing the exact location and activating a coordinated response through the InformaCast critical communication and incident management platform. The badge is purpose-built for environments where staff need fast, hands-free access to emergency assistance, like K–12 schools, healthcare facilities, and other workplaces with distributed staff.
The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge uses a programmable press pattern to initiate an alert. When activated, the badge sends a signal through a network of BLE beacons and a LoRaWAN gateway to the InformaCast platform, which identifies the staff member, pinpoints their location, and launches a pre-defined response—silent alerts to administrators and security, automated 911 notification where configured, notifications across the building, and live incident management workflows. The whole sequence happens in seconds.
A panic button app requires staff to have their phone on them, unlock it, find the app, open it, and activate the alert—a series of steps that can take precious seconds in an emergency, and may not be possible at all if the phone is across the room, in a desk drawer, or out of reach. The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge is worn at all times, immediately accessible, and only needs to be pressed to activate. There’s no phone to find, no PIN to enter, no app to launch—just press the button the defined number of times for the situation. For staff in settings where a phone isn’t always in hand, the badge dramatically shortens the time between noticing an emergency and receiving a response.
Yes. Alyssa’s Law requires public schools to install silent panic alarms directly linked to law enforcement. The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge meets that requirement by giving every staff member a silent, wearable activation device that initiates immediate notification to administrators and, where configured, directly to 911 and local law enforcement dispatch. Combined with InformaCast’s mass notification and incident management workflows, the Wearable Alert Badge helps schools comply with Alyssa’s Law in states where it’s enacted, and align with the spirit of the law in states where similar legislation is under consideration.
Emergencies don’t wait for staff to find a phone, run to a wall-mounted button, or reach a classroom intercom—and they don’t always happen in places where help is nearby. Our State of Safety and Operational Readiness in K–12 Schools report found that 40% of teachers reported having no access to any kind of panic button. Giving every staff member a wearable panic button closes that gap. Every adult on campus becomes a first responder for the moment they’re in—whether it’s a medical emergency in the cafeteria, a fight in the hallway, an intruder at the front office, or a behavior crisis in the classroom—and help can be on the way in seconds instead of minutes.
The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge provides room-level location accuracy using a network of BLE beacons installed throughout the building. When the badge is activated, the alert includes the staff member’s name and the specific room or zone they’re in—not just “somewhere on campus.” That precision lets administrators and first responders go directly to the source of the emergency instead of searching the building. Because organizations will have beacons placed throughout a building, location information is updated if a staff member should move, providing an up-to-date location that is readily accessible.
The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge communicates with the BLE beacon network so location data is ready the moment it’s needed—but that location data is only surfaced when a staff member activates the badge. Administrators don’t see live, building-wide location dashboards and don’t use the badge to monitor where staff are during the day. The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge is designed for emergency response, not surveillance, and Singlewire’s privacy posture reflects that.
The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge is designed to prevent accidental activation. Instead of a single tap, the badge requires a specific multi-press pattern to activate an alert—distinct, multiple presses that won’t activate if the badge is bumped or held down. In practice, accidental activation is not a meaningful operational concern for schools using the badge.
The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge relies on BLE beacons inside the building for location accuracy. For staff who need protection outside the building (recess monitors, athletic coaches, bus duty staff, off-campus events), schools typically pair the wearable badge with the InformaCast mobile app, which provides panic-button coverage anywhere staff have cell service. Together, the badge and the app give staff complete coverage from the parking lot through every corner of the building, and Singlewire is actively working on being able to provide outdoor coverage for the badge in the near future.
The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge has a one-year rechargeable battery to run for a full school year on a single charge under normal, non-activation use, so staff don’t have to think about daily charging or mid-year replacements. Each badge comes with an individual charging cord, and each organization is provided with a multi-badge charging dock. Each badge reports its battery status back to InformaCast automatically, and administrators get advance notice well before any badge runs out of power.
Yes. In addition to the wearable badges themselves, a complete deployment requires BLE beacons installed throughout each building for location accuracy, beacon supervisors that relay beacon and badge health data, and a LoRaWAN gateway that connects badge activations to InformaCast. The InformaCast platform itself runs in the cloud, so no on-premises server is required.
InformaCast supports four additional panic-button options that schools can deploy alongside the Wearable Alert Badge: a mobile app with a built-in panic button (useful for outdoor and off-site coverage), a desktop app with configurable keyboard shortcuts, soft-key panic buttons on IP desk phones, and physical panic buttons mounted on walls or under desks. Most schools use the wearable badge as the primary daily-carry device and one or more of the others for fixed-location or outdoor coverage.
The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge is the only wearable panic button purpose-built to work directly with InformaCast—the critical communication and incident management platform many schools already use. Most competing wearable panic buttons are standalone alerting devices that send a notification and stop there. The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge is the activation point for a complete response: automated 911 outreach, live mass notification across the building, conferencing with first responders, incident management workflows, and integration with the rest of the school’s safety infrastructure. For schools already using InformaCast for mass notification, the badge slots directly into the platform they trust; for schools new to InformaCast, the badge is the front-end of a complete safety solution rather than an isolated tool.
