While organizations face evolving challenges in the face of the ongoing pandemic, there is still a need for effective audio alerts that grab people’s attention and warn them about emergencies. We continue to have customers seeking IP speaker solutions that reach everyone with critical information using our InformaCast mass notification system. That’s why, for the third year in a row, we reached out to our ecosystem partners to have them share their recommended IP speaker solutions for a variety of use cases and environments.

Using the information we received, as well as feedback we’ve had from customers and experts on our team, we have awarded top prizes in various categories, including a new category recognizing the best solution for healthcare environments. All entrants are collected in the 2020 IP Speaker Guide which is available for free to download. Please note that some vendors are different than in year’s past, and not every ecosystem partner that sells IP speakers chose not to participate in this year’s program. Attributes: This speaker can withstand harsh weather conditions, produces loud audio that can be heard during a storm, and is vandal-proof.

Attributes: This speaker can be heard in noisy classroom environments, includes two-way communication, offers scrolling text, and provides the time.

Best Two-Sided IP Speaker

Attributes: This speaker provides time with digital or analog clocks, can be heard in noisy environments, can include scrolling text, and includes a bright LED flasher for additional visual alerting.

Best Cost Effective, Audio-Only Speaker

Attributes: This speaker has more features than other manufacturer’s products at a better price point which includes sound reinforcement, a panic button that can call two phone numbers and relay two lockdowns for two doors. It costs $419 when used with a Wahsega Secondary.

Best IP Speaker with Visual Alerting

Speaker Model and Vendor: Advanced Network Devices IPCSL-W-RWB

Attributes: This speaker can alert people with strobes and lights, includes scrolling or static text, and is visible up to 300 ft away.
